How does Centry's company incorporation service work?

It's easy! Simply provide us with some basic information, complete the e-KYC verification of stakeholders, and sign-off some declarations. We will take it from there and proceed to incorporate your company with SSM. Once your company is incorporated, our Client Success Team will let you know and take your through the next steps in setting up your company.

Am I required to print & fill up physical paperworks and bring them to you?

Fortunately, no. Our entire incorporation process is designed to be completed online so that you don't need to leave the comfort of your home to kickstart your dream company. You are not required to print and fill up physical forms or meet us physically.

What are the criteria of incorporating a private limited company in Malaysia?

I am not a Malaysian. Can I incorporate a company in Malaysia?

Yes you can. You just need to ensure that at least one of your company's director ordinarily resides in Malaysia. If you don't have one readily available, we can provide one for you.

How much is Centry's company incorporation service?

We collect a total of RM1,949 (RM1,499 company incorporation fee + RM450 quarterly Company Secretarial retainer fee) to incorporate your company. This amount is inclusive of the RM1,010 registration fee that is payable to SSM.

Once my company is incorporated, what's next?

Our aim is to alleviate the burden of compliance and back-office management for Malaysian Startups and SME's business owners. Once your company is incorporated, you can start running and growing your business.

Must I appoint a Company Secretary for my company?

Yes. According to Companies Act 2016, every company must appoint a Company Secretary within 30 days from the date of its incorporation and maintain a Company Secretary on record on then onwards.

If you incorporate your company through Centry, we will appoint a licensed Company Secretary for your once your company has been incorporated. This appointed Company Secretary will act as your company's official Company Secretary on record.

What does a Company Secretary do?

A competent Company Secretary maintains your company's compliance with the requirements under Companies Act 2016.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can subscribe to our services either via a monthly FPX auto-debit from your bank account (preferred) or via a recurring credit card charge. We process your payments through secure payment service providers and gateways.

Company Secretarial

How does Centry's company secretarial service work?

Our company secretarial service works on a subscription basis. The subscription is to retain a licensed Company Secretary to act as the Company Secretary on record for your company. Our team of Company Secretaries ensures that your company is compliant with Companies Act 2016 and tracks all statutory submissions required and the respective deadlines.

How do I get onboard of Centry's company secretarial service?

If you incorporate your company through Centry, we will automatically appoint our licensed Company Secretary to act as your Company Secretarial on record.

If you currently have another Company Secretary on record and would like to transfer to Centry, simply fill up this form and we will kickstart the transfer process to switch your Company Secretary to us.

How much does it cost to engage Centry's company secretarial service?

Our Company Secretarial retainer fee is RM80/month, billed half-yearly (ie. RM480 every 6 months)

We are also available to support ad hoc company secretarial works. The ad hoc company secretarial services are billed as and when these services are performed. You only need to pay for the services you use!

Accounting

How does Centry's accounting & bookkeeping service work?

Our accounting service works on a monthly subscription basis. First, we will jump on a discovery call with you to understand your business needs in order to recommend the most suitable package and pricing for you. Once that is done, we will start to setup your account and guide you through our onboarding process where you will learn how to submit documents to us and what to expect every month.

Do you have any lock-in or minimum subscription period?

No, our subscription is renewed on a monthly basis. There is no lock-in or minimum subscription period. If you decide to move on from our services, you simply need to provide us with a 30 days notice.

What are the requirements for me to engage your accounting service?

We are here to take the bookkeeping and accounting burden off your shoulders so that you can focus on reaching for the stars. In order for us to deliver our services effectively, we appreciate your cooperation to provide us with timely responses for:
1. Transaction / supporting documents related to your business on our designated platform(s)
2. Any clarifications we may need from you
3. Communication on any changes in your business

What determines the pricing of my plan?

We understand every business is unique, which is why it is crucial for us to jump on a discovery call for us to understand a few key factors that will influence the pricing of your subscription plan, such as the intensity of your businesss transactions, the complexity of such transactions, and the structure of your business; in order to propose the most suitable plan for you.

What software do you use in rendering your accounting services?

Centry is a certified Xero Partner. We provide free Xero subscription to our clients for accounting and invoicing. We also use Hubdoc as a smart central repository for you to upload all your bills, invoices, and receipts.

Can you use my preferred software instead?

Kindly reach out to our Client Success Team to enquire further on your preferred software(s).

I'm currently not on cloud. Can you help me migrate to the cloud-based accounting software?

Yes, as part of the onboarding process, we will assess with you to see if full data migration is required. If yes, we will be able to help you migrate from your existing accounting platform into our cloud-based accounting software.

Alternatively, we can move only the closing/opening balances over to our platform while you archive all existing data or retain them in your current accounting software.

What happens as my business scales up or down?

We design our services to scale accordingly to the state of your business. As you your business grows, we are ready to scale up our support to help you reach your next phase of growth; conversely, if you decide to scale down your business, we can scale down your service package so that you do not need to bear unnecessary overheads.

We will kickstart a conversation with you as and when the need arises to make changes to your existing subscription plan.

My accounts are messy and needs catching up. Can you help?

Our payroll outsourcing service works on a monthly subscription basis. We help you with employee onboarding / offboarding, monthly salary processing, and handle all statutory submissions for you so that you don't need to worry about going through mundane paperworks processes

Do you have any lock-in or minimum subscription period?

What are the requirements for me to engage your payroll outsourcing service?

We are here to take the burden of payroll processing and employee management off your shoulders so that you can focus on growing your business. In order for us to deliver our payroll outsourcing services effectively, we appreciate your cooperation to:
1. Approve or reject outstanding claims or leaves application by your employees for them to be included in the nearest payroll processing cycle.
2. Notify us of any incoming or outgoing employees as soon as possible for us to prepare the necesaary documents to notify the relevant statutory bodies within the prescribed deadlines.

Must I register as an employer once I start hiring employees?

Yes, it is compulsory for all businesses and companies to register and setup employer accounts with EPF, SOCSO, and IRBM within the prescribed window from the commencement of employment. You are also required to register with HRDF once your business fulfils the criteria for compulsory registration.

What is Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD) and why should I care?

MTD (or PCB as it is known in Bahasa Malaysia) is a mechanism where the employer deducts the employee's salary on a monthly basis for the purpose of paying the employee's income tax. MTD is determined either by using the computerised payroll calculation method or by referring to the prescribed table by IRBM.

It is mandatory for employers to withhold MTD from their employee's salary and remit them to IRBM on a monthly basis. Failure to do so is an offence under prevailing tax laws.

How does tax compliance service work with Centry?

There are a few ways to engage our tax compliance service:
1. Subscribe to our full suite of accounting + tax compliance service. This is the recommended option for your accounting and taxation needs handled seamlessly from end-to-end.
2. Have your bookkeeping done with your preferred service provider and appoint us to handle your taxes. We will liaise with your bookkeeping service provider on your behalf to obtain all required information.

What does Centry's tax compliance service include?

Our core service covers mandatory filings such as income tax returns (Form C, B, BE or P), tax estimations (CP204 / CP204A) if applicable, employer's annual return (Form E) if applicable, and SST returns. We can also cover additional scopes such as withholding tax filing, imported services tax filing, transfer pricing, and many more on an ad hoc basis.

What are the benefits of outsourcing tax compliance to Centry?

Tax laws and regulations are constantly evolving especially with each national budget. New rulings on tax treatments are also released by IRBM and RMCD frequently. Plus, different form of returns have different things to prepare for and different ways of submitting them.
